Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Workshop Manager to lead and oversee the operations of our automotive mechanical workshop in Abuja.

 Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the mechanical workshop.
• Supervise, coordinate, and motivate technicians and workshop staff.
• Diagnose and oversee repairs, servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vehicles.
• Ensure all jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to a high professional standard.
• Monitor workshop productivity, job quality, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
• Review and approve technical repair recommendations and estimates.
• Maintain accurate workshop records, job cards, and maintenance reports.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and workshop operating procedures.
• Identify training and development needs for workshop personnel.
• Work closely with the Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Management to ensure smooth operations.
• Control workshop resources and minimize unnecessary costs and wastage.

 Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification/certification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in automotive mechanical workshop operations.
• Proven experience managing a team of mechanics/technicians.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
• Experience with modern vehicles and automotive diagnostic equipment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience in a reputable automobile dealership, workshop, or automotive service centre is an advantage.
