    Mechanical Heating, Ventilation & Air conditioning (HVAC) Design Engineer

    Job Description

    • Our client is looking to recruit a Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer to handle designs and installation of heating, venting, and air conditioning systems.
    • The advertised position is a mechanical engineering role and successful candidate will oversee installation and will be working with/as the Project Engineer.
    • This individual will provide planning, support, design with accurate heat load calculation and recommended product capacity matching to support projects related to new construction builds, rebuilds, studio space optimization, and other small scale projects as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Research, design, fabricate, and install HVAC mechanical equipment to meet client’s requirements in both large and small projects.
    • Consult on HVAC system and equipment design for a wide range of projects, and work with other engineers, project managers, and construction professionals as needed to create and/or modify design parameters.
    • Develop and oversee all aspects of production including Clean Room design, computer modeling, selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, testing, and implementation of products and systems.
    • Analyze HVAC systems and equipment when necessary to find inefficiencies or malfunctions and create solutions to optimize performance and increase the efficiency of operation.
    • Design testing procedures and control equipment to accurately assess products and identify areas that require modification and further testing.
    • Communicate directly with customers to understand project requirements, goals, design specifications, and operational environments in order to evaluate cost, feasibility, and implementation of new HVAC equipment.
    • Create and submit detailed bids that outline costs and timelines for construction or extraction projects in accordance with deadlines.
    • Serve as project leader to coordinate efforts of managers, engineers, drafters, and manufacturing personnel during all project phases.
    • Communicate directly with internal customers to understand project requirements, goals, design specifications, and operational environments to evaluate cost, feasibility, and implementation of new equipment
    • Ensures that all HVAC engineering deliverables are following the project and other relevant regulatory requirements while meeting approved specifications
    • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of HVAC installation, design development and provide author supervision
    • To develop new energy efficiency solutions according to industry best practice standards
    • Consult on HVAC system and equipment design for a wide range of projects, and work with other engineers, project managers, and construction professionals as needed to create and/or modify design parameters
    • Manage replacing and upgrading of the current system to meet the newly developed system requirements
    • Analyze HVAC systems and equipment when necessary to find inefficiencies or malfunctions and create solutions to optimize performance and increase the efficiency of operation
    • Immediately notifying the persons in charge with the equipment and the users about any problem with the ventilation, cooling, water, power supply system’s etc.
    • Analyze all load programs and perform required calculations and manage all electrical requirements for HVAC and fire safety equipment and recommend improvements
    • Monitor all resources and ensure optimal utilization for same and achieve all customer objectives and provide support to all equipment and perform calculations and implement various plans for HVAC
    • Research, design, and install control of HVAC mechanical equipment to meet client’s requirements in both large and small projects
    • Make an active contribution in the research and development efforts by understanding the HVAC advances that will match with the emerging technologies
    • To monitor the execution of the developmental efforts and think of innovative ideas to build and design the HVAC, within the given budget and time
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
    • 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on HVAC design required
    • At least 3 years’ experience in air conditioning systems planning, designing
    • Bachelor’s degree plus experience in the HVAC engineering industry
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Punctual and able to meet deadlines
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of Air-cooled chillers, VRF-type system conditioning and air handling units is a must
    • HVAC designer and/or HVAC construction management is a plus
    • HVAC design software skills are a must
    • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
    • High sense of responsibility, sense of urgency and punctuality
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills
    • Experience with 3D Modeling programs such as AutoCAD, or Revit.
