Job Summary

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment that support manufacturing operations.
• This role requires hands-on experience with industrial systems, strong analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards in line with industry best practices.
• Preferred candidates will be resident in Apapa or its environs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyse, and oversee mechanical systems and installations for the facility.
• Supervise the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, etc.
• Conduct performance tests, troubleshooting, and root cause analyses of mechanical failures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, instrumentation) to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor contractors’ work to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.
• Provide technical input in tender processes, feasibility studies, and cost estimation.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures and regulatory standards.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

• Excellent understanding of mechanical systems.
• Strong ability to diagnose, analyze, and solve engineering challenges efficiently.
• Capable of leading site teams and collaborating effectively across departments.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Precision in design, documentation, and execution of projects.
• Ability to identify and implement innovative engineering solutions.
• Works effectively under pressure and adapts to fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to corporate goals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng / B.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in mechanical engineering within the manufacturing industry.
• COREN and NSE membership (Optional).
• Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, PDMS, etc.).
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, and NACE).
• Proven experience in rotating and static equipment, piping systems, and maintenance planning.
• Certification in Project Management or HSE will be an added advantage.
