Job Summary

An electrician working with a drip irrigation system would be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing the electrical components that power and control the system. This includes tasks like wiring pumps, solenoids, and timers, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring the system operates safely and efficiently. They may also be involved in reading electrical schematics, recommending equipment, and collaborating with other irrigation professionals and engineers. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Installing and connecting electrical wiring for pumps, solenoids, control panels, and other electrical components of the irrigation system.
• Regularly inspecting and maintaining the electrical components of the system, including checking wiring, connections, and control panels.
• Identifying and repairing electrical faults in the irrigation system, such as faulty wiring, damaged components, or malfunctioning timer.
• Understanding and interpreting electrical schematics to properly install and troubleshoot the system.
• Ensuring all electrical work is performed safely and in accordance with electrical codes and regulations.
• Working with other irrigation technicians, landscapers, or agricultural professionals to ensure the proper functioning of the entire irrigation system.
• Recommending appropriate electrical equipment and materials for the irrigation system. 

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

• SSCE, ND or HND on electrical related field.
• Formal electrical training.
