    Managing Director

    The Role

    As the Managing Director, you will:

    • Develop and implement the organisation’s long term strategy, ensuring competitiveness within the Nigerian and global oil & gas landscape.
    • Lead corporate planning initiatives, capital investment strategies, and portfolio optimisation efforts.
    • Provide strategic direction on exploration, development, and production activities to maximise asset value.
    • Oversee the organisation’s operational performance, ensuring efficient delivery of exploration, drilling, production, and field development programs.
    • Ensure disciplined financial management encompassing budgeting, forecasting, cost optimisation, and capital allocation.
    • Ensure full compliance with relevant petroleum laws, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
    • Maintain active engagement with regulatory bodies to support compliant, transparent, and efficient operations.
    • Stakeholder Engagement & External Relations
    • Develop and maintain productive relationships with government agencies, joint venture partners, host communities, and strategic stakeholders.
    • Promote an inclusive and mutually beneficial approach to community relations and local content development.
    • Build and lead a high performing executive team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and alignment with strategic objectives.
    • Promote a culture grounded in safety, performance excellence, innovation, and ethical behaviour.
    • Lead sustainability initiatives across environmental stewardship, safety management, and social responsibility.

    What you bring

    • MBA or relevant Master’s degree will be an advantage.
    • Relevant professional qualifications (SPE, COREN, etc.).
    • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively senior experience in the upstream oil & gas sector.
    • Strong experience managing regulatory relationships and navigating Nigeria’s upstream petroleum environment.
    • Deep technical understanding of upstream asset development, production operations, and petroleum lifecycle management.
    • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Commercial acumen with proven ability to manage complex, capital‑intensive projects.
    • High level of credibility, ethical standards, and personal integrity.
