Job Summary

• The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial team player, expected to manage the research function of the asset management team and mentor other research analysts. The candidate will provide fundamental research coverage on equities, fixed income and alternative assets. The ideal candidate will leverage quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to evaluate investment opportunities and risks withing the local and global capital market, ensuring optimal result in identifying opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Research & Investment Analysis

• Lead the research function across macroeconomic, equity, fixed income, and financial market analysis to support the firm’s investment decision-making process.
• Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial and valuation models for companies under coverage.
• Conduct fundamental analysis on listed companies, sectors, and markets, generating actionable investment insights and recommendations.
• Prepare periodic equity research reports, earnings reviews, sector updates, and thematic research publications.
• Develop and present well-articulated investment theses supported by financial analysis, industry trends, and macroeconomic outlook.
• Monitor and analyse key macroeconomic indicators, monetary policy developments, fiscal trends, and global market events impacting investment markets.
• Maintain and update internal databases covering macroeconomic, financial market, and company-specific data for research and strategy purposes.
• Prepare periodic reports and commentary on fixed income markets, interest rate outlook, currency movements, and capital market developments.
• Contribute to the preparation of the firm’s periodic investment strategy and capital market expectation reports across asset classes.
• Track regulatory, policy, and industry developments relevant to the investment management and capital markets environment.

Stakeholder Engagement & Market Intelligence

• Engage with company management, industry participants, regulators, analysts, and other market operators to obtain relevant market intelligence and insights.
• Represent the research team in internal investment discussions, strategy meetings, and client-facing engagements where required.
• Prepare presentation materials and provide research-driven insights for internal stakeholders, institutional clients, and prospective investors.
• Collaborate with other business units in developing research-backed investment solutions and market intelligence initiatives.

Team Leadership & Management

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the research team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality research outputs.
• Mentor, train, and develop junior analysts and research associates within the team.
• Establish research standards, methodologies, and best practices to improve analytical quality and consistency.
• Coordinate research coverage allocation and ensure adequate monitoring of assigned sectors and markets.

Other Responsibilities

• Support the development of new investment products through market research, industry analysis, and feasibility assessments.
• Participate actively in investment committee meetings, strategy sessions, and research briefings.
• Perform any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Management or the Head of Investment Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree or CFA certification is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment research, portfolio management, or related roles.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
• Solid understanding of capital markets, asset classes, and investment instruments.
• Strong Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and other financial analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• High level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards in financial markets.
• Demonstrated track record of successful investment research and portfolio contributions.
