    Manager, Platform Finance Operations

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • We are looking for an experienced and innovative platform Finance Operations Manager to be part of our Business Operations team. In this dynamic role, you will be supporting Paga’s ambition to grow globally and you will assist to streamline our operations and enhance efficiency in settlement and reconciliation to improve customer retention, satisfaction and overall experience.
    • The platform Financial Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our FinOps team. The Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Platform Operations unit by deploying continuous improvement strategies, innovation, monitoring financial processes, compliance with regulations and contributing to the organisation’s overall financial success.
    • The ideal candidate will be well-versed in settlement and reconciliation best practice, maintain accuracy in record-keeping, and capable of using technology to drive service improvement.

    JOB SUMMARY

    • Directly responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership to the FinOps team; enabling efficient daily reconciliation of transactions, timely resolution disputes across the platform including NIP, POS, Card, Chargebacks, and remittances.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operations

    • Deploy continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency such as processing of refunds and reversal of failed and unsettled transactions.
    • Appreciate the intricacies of managing challenges associated with card and other e-payment systems and back office operations in general.
    • Use tools to quickly, conveniently, and accurately settle and reconcile transactions across different channels.
    • Identify risks involved in processing transactions across the various e-payment channels and acquire skills to mitigate them.
    • Review reconciliations across all Platform Operations Units within the team.
    • Monitor e-processing/e-settlement in relevant units within the team.
    • Liaise with 3rd parties on new products and services that would be beneficial to the team and the organization.
    • Efficient and effective implementation of processes for the smooth running of the team.
    • Provide timely and accurate reports to top management team.
    • Perform required high-level tasks assigned by the leadership team

    Regulatory Compliance and Reporting

    • Supervise regulatory controls by ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations.
    • Manages correspondence and communication with all internal & external stakeholders including Local and International partners, Banks & regulators.
    • Review and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports.

    Customer Support

    • Collaborate with other departments in issue resolution and provide innovative ideas to resolve/prevent customer related issues.

    People Management & Leadership

    • Provide leadership and direction to the Platform FinOps team.
    • Recruit, mentor and develop reconciliation officers and nurture an environment where they can exce
    • Provide coaching, mentoring and training to team members to enhance career development.

    Performance management

    • Monitor team’s SLAs and KPIs and ensure consistent compliance.
    • Evaluate performance with key metrics.
    • Ensure timely and adequate frequency in evaluating and managing individual and team

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in relevant financial discipline(required).
    • Master’s degree/certifications in relevant disciplines (desirable)
    • 5+ or more years in supervisory/leadership roles in reconciliation/settlement department (strongly required)
    • Experience/knowledge in NIP, POS, Card processing etc (strongly required)
    • Experience/knowledge in local and cross border remittances (required)
    • Deep knowledge of regulatory and financial requirements across all units in the department (required)
    • Very comfortable with data, reporting and CRM tools.
    • Experience working within an environment with swift adoption of new processes/policies and/or consistent product change.

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze customer data, insights, and feedback to inform strategies and initiatives.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and presentations skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
