    Management Partner

    Role Summary

    • The Management Partner (MP) will be embedded within the FMoHSW, supporting multisectoral collaboration, leadership development, and the institutionalisation of evidence-based climate and health planning. Working with a diverse team of government leaders at the federal and state levels, the MP will strengthen leadership, coordination, and management capabilities for climate and health adaptation. They will be responsible for facilitating cross-sector collaboration, coaching government teams, and ensuring that policy and implementation are driven by evidence and community insights.
    • The MP will also support the integration of climate-related insights into planning processes, as well as the development of sustainable coordination platforms that connect federal, state, and community action. The MP’s day-to-day work will be determined in collaboration with the FMoHSW, focusing at a minimum on multisectoral coordination, evidence-based policymaking, systems thinking, and transformative leadership.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a coach and mentor, supporting team members in developing and institutionalising their L&M skills
    • Strengthen coordination and partnerships within the National Technical Working Group
    • Guide the team in building the tools and processes needed to increase efficiency and effectiveness, integrating evidence, data, and insights into their daily work
    • Drive adoption and institutionalise change
    • Identify the learning and development needs of the team and propose actions to address them
    • Work closely with Amp Health’s Learning team to organise workshops and other capacity-building activities
    • Support the Partnership Accountability Team to ensure that partnership goals are met, government teams receive the support they need, alignment with strategic objectives is maintained, and progress reports are provided to funding partners
    • Provide regular updates to the Country Support Lead on progress, challenges, and key learnings, and support the preparation of reports for funders, ensuring accountability in partnership performance
    • Actively engage in team activities, providing guidance and fostering an environment of trust and collaboration
    • Track and evaluate the impact of L&M initiatives using data and feedback, and use these to improve strategies and processes continuously
    • Serve as a resource to the FMoHSW, adapting to evolving priorities and challenges
    • Collaborate with other Amp Health teams and external partners to facilitate knowledge sharing and joint initiatives
    • Carry out other tasks as necessary to achieve the objectives of the programme, the FMoHSW, and Amp Health

    Qualifications:

    This role requires motivation, flexibility, curiosity, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, patience, business acumen, and selflessness. The successful candidate will combine proven organisational skills and a results-driven approach with creativity, astuteness, humility, and a commitment to building strong trust-based relationships within their team. MPs should also have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passionate interest in, and commitment to, improving L&M capabilities. In addition, candidates should have the following:

    • At least 8-10 years of experience as a mid-career professional, ideally combining managerial roles in the public and private sectors
    • Proven familiarity with public sector reform, health systems strengthening, and/or climate adaptation programmes
    • A strong understanding of the intersection between climate change and health, including adaptation and resilience strategies
    • Experience working in low-resource settings in Africa is required, and experience working outside your home country is desired to provide fresh perspectives
    • Experience working and living in Nigeria is required, as is the legal authorisation to do so
    • Experience in capacity building, training, and/or skills transfer is required, and experience in change management is preferred
    • The ability to navigate the political economy of a system and demonstrate success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a multi-stakeholder environment with varying levels of authority (including senior leaders) is required
    • Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills, including both qualitative and quantitative approaches
    • A relevant advanced degree (e.g. an MBA, Master of Public Policy, Master of International Relations, or Master of Public Health) is desirable
    • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
    • Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
