Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager (Electrical & Mechanical) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance activities related to the plant’s electrical and mechanical systems, utilities, and infrastructure. The role ensures uninterrupted operations by maintaining power systems, machinery, and facility equipment at optimal performance while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
- Oversee maintenance of electrical systems including generators, transformers, switchgear, panels, cabling, and lighting systems.
- Supervise maintenance of mechanical systems such as compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, boilers, and other utility equipment.
- Ensure continuous availability of power and utilities to support production operations.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical faults.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
- Plan and coordinate routine servicing, inspections, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement reliability improvement strategies.
- Ensure timely response to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise electrical and mechanical engineers, technicians, and artisans.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance personnel.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies, electrical safety standards, and statutory regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce safe work practices.
- Maintain proper documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Manage external contractors for specialized electrical and mechanical works.
- Supervise installation, servicing, and repairs carried out by third parties.
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
- Control maintenance costs and optimize use of resources.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement planning.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain maintenance logs, asset registers, and performance records.
- Prepare periodic reports on maintenance activities and system performance.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and operational improvements.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- B.Sc./HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 8–12 years’ experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and mechanical utilities.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
- Good understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS is an advantage).
