Maintenance & Facilities Officer at TAAS College

Job Summary

• TAAS Group of Schools, Ibadan is seeking a competent, proactive, and experienced Maintenance & Facilities Officer to oversee the maintenance, safety, and functionality of the school’s facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the maintenance of school buildings, classrooms, offices, laboratories, and other facilities.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
• Monitor and maintain electrical, plumbing, water supply, and other utility systems.
• Coordinate repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Supervise artisans, technicians, and external contractors when necessary.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and facility inspections.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Monitor facility-related expenses and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and operational issues.
• Support management in planning and executing facility improvement projects.

Requirements

• Minimum of HND, B.Sc., or equivalent qualification in  Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Technology, Estate Management, or a related discipline.
• 4–7 years of proven experience in maintenance and facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building maintenance systems.
• Good problem-solving, organizational, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must reside in Ibadan or be willing to relocate to Ibadan.
