    LGA Clinical Supervisor - 2 positions

    Project Summary

    • The project seeks to improve access to quality, life-saving services and strengthen community resilience through a multi-pronged approach that integrates preventive and curative healthcare, nutritional support, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response in Project LGAs

    Job Profile

    • The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and technical support to healthcare providers within the LGA. The LGA Clinical Supervisor will ensure the delivery of high-quality integrated services, adherence to national guidelines and protocols, and the effective integration of healthcare, nutrition, and GBV interventions. 

    Job Description
    The successful candidate will perform the following functions:

    • Provide regular clinical supervision and mentorship to healthcare providers (e.g., nurses, midwives, community health workers) within assigned health facilities in the LGA.
    • Support service provision at health facilities as well as doing mobile health outreaches.
    • Ensure adherence to national guidelines, protocols, and standards of care for integrated healthcare, nutrition, and GBV services.
    • Facilitate training and capacity building activities for healthcare providers on relevant topics, including but not limited to: antenatal care, safe delivery, postnatal care, immunization, management of childhood illnesses, nutritional assessment and counseling, and GBV prevention and response.
    • Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of healthcare providers and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
    • Collect and analyze data on key project indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports on supervisory activities, challenges, and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with other project staff, LGA health authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
    • Participate in relevant meetings and workshops.
    • Any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager 

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
    •  Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Humanitarian setting, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
    • Fluent in Kanuri, Hausa & English.
    • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and training to healthcare providers.
    • Strong knowledge of national guidelines and protocols for integrated healthcare, nutrition, and GBV services.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).

    Skills and Competency required:

    • Clinical Expertise: Possesses a strong understanding of clinical principles and best practices in integrated healthcare, nutrition, and GBV services.
    • Supervisory Skills: Ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and train healthcare providers.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with healthcare providers, project staff, and community stakeholders.
    • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrates sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work effectively in diverse communities.
