Legal Officer at Planet Bottling Company

Role Description

• The Legal Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for providing legal support to Planet Bottling Company Ltd across its operations.
• The role includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents related to manufacturing, logistics, and commercial activities.
• The Legal Officer will advise on business and contract law matters, support compliance with applicable regulations, and help manage legal risk across the organization.
• Day-to-day tasks include preparing legal opinions, maintaining organized legal records, liaising with external counsel when needed, and supporting internal stakeholders with clear, practical legal guidance.
• The Legal Officer will also contribute to the development of policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and the company’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Law and Business Law, with the ability to apply legal principles to commercial and operational activities.
• Candidates should possess skills in Contract Law and Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and related documentation.
• Candidates should possess experience in Legal Consulting, providing clear, solutions-focused advice to internal stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
• Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• A law degree (LL.B or equivalent), qualification to practice law in Nigeria, and prior experience in corporate or commercial law are highly beneficial.
• Experience in the manufacturing, FMCG, or beverage industry, as well as familiarity with regulatory compliance in Nigeria, is an added advantage.
