The Lawyer will be responsible for providing legal advice, ensuring regulatory compliance, drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing corporate legal matters, mitigating legal risks, and representing the company's interests where necessary.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with experience in corporate and commercial law.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts, agreements, memoranda, and other legal documents.
Ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Advise management on legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Handle legal disputes, claims, and litigation involving the company.
Liaise with external counsel, regulatory agencies, and government institutions when required.
Support contract negotiations with clients, vendors, partners, and service providers.
Develop and update company policies to ensure legal compliance.
Provide legal guidance on intellectual property, data protection, and information security matters.
Conduct legal research and monitor changes in legislation that may impact the business.
Assist the HR department on employment law matters, disciplinary procedures, and labour-related issues.
Maintain proper documentation and confidentiality of legal records.
Eligibility
Bachelor's Degree (LL.B) in Law.
Qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria..
3 - 5 years' post-call experience in corporate, commercial, or technology law.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate, commercial, labour, and contract laws.
Experience handling regulatory compliance and corporate governance matters.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal documentation tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the technology, telecommunications, or cloud services industry.
Knowledge of data protection laws, cybersecurity regulations, and intellectual property law.
Membership in relevant professional associations will be an added advantage.
