    Lead Quality Assurance & Project Coordinator

    About the Role

    • We are seeking a highly experienced, analytical, and results-driven Lead Quality Assurance & Project Coordinator to join our growing cross-border FinTech team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Company's Quality Assurance (QA) function while coordinating the successful planning, execution, testing, release, and delivery of software products across our international payment ecosystem.
    • The successful candidate will oversee the quality assurance lifecycle for the Company's cross-border payment platform, mobile applications, web applications, digital wallets, virtual accounts, remittance services, merchant platforms, foreign exchange solutions, APIs, and other financial technology products.
    • This leadership role combines Quality Assurance Leadership, Software Testing, Release Management, Project Coordination, and Cross-Functional Delivery Management. The successful candidate will establish QA standards, manage testing activities, coordinate software releases, monitor project execution, improve software quality processes, mentor QA team members, and ensure products meet business, customer, security, regulatory, and technical requirements before deployment.
    • The Lead Quality Assurance & Project Coordinator will work closely with Product Managers, Backend Engineers, Mobile Developers, Frontend Developers, DevOps Engineers, UI/UX Designers, Compliance, Operations, Customer Support, Banking Partners, Executive Management, and external technology vendors to ensure the successful planning, testing, coordination, and delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable FinTech solutions.
    • This position plays a critical role in reducing production defects, improving customer experience, ensuring software quality, maintaining regulatory compliance, driving project execution, supporting Agile delivery, and continuously improving software development processes across the organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Quality Assurance Leadership

    • Lead the Company's Software Quality Assurance function.
    • Develop and implement QA strategies, policies, standards, and testing frameworks.
    • Establish quality objectives and testing methodologies across projects.
    • Define quality metrics and monitor software quality performance.
    • Review business and functional requirements to ensure testability.
    • Lead test planning activities across multiple projects.
    • Mentor and guide QA Engineers and testers.
    • Ensure consistent QA processes throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Promote quality-first engineering culture across development teams.

    Software Quality Assurance & Testing

    • Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases.
    • Perform:

      • Exploratory Testing

    • Validate all software releases before production deployment.

    • Ensure software complies with business, functional, and technical requirements.
    • Perform post-release validation.
    • Recommend automation opportunities where applicable.

    Payment Systems & Transaction Testing

    • Test end-to-end cross-border payment workflows.
    • Validate international payment processing.
    • Test:

      • Local Transfers
      • Merchant Payments
      • Card Payments
      • FX Transactions
      • Settlement Processes
    • Validate payment routing.
    • Test payment notifications.
    • Verify reconciliation accuracy.
    • Validate failed transaction recovery.
    • Ensure payment lifecycle integrity.

    API & Backend Validation

    • Test RESTful APIs using Postman or equivalent tools.
    • Validate authentication and authorization.
    • Verify request and response payloads.
    • Test webhook services.
    • Validate third-party integrations.
    • Test banking APIs.
    • Validate payment gateway integrations.
    • Verify backend synchronization.
    • Perform database validation where required.

    Project Coordination

    • Coordinate software development projects from initiation through deployment.
    • Prepare project schedules and timelines.
    • Monitor sprint execution.
    • Track milestones and deliverables.
    • Organize:
      • Sprint Planning
      • Daily Standups
      • Sprint Reviews
      • Retrospectives
      • Release Planning Meetings
    • Coordinate communication between Engineering, Product, Compliance, Operations, and Management.
    • Escalate risks, blockers, and project delays.
    • Monitor project progress.
    • Maintain project documentation.
    • Ensure timely project delivery.

    Release Management

    • Coordinate software release planning.
    • Prepare release readiness checklists.
    • Validate release candidates.
    • Coordinate UAT activities.
    • Support staging and production deployments.
    • Verify successful production deployments.
    • Coordinate rollback procedures where necessary.
    • Maintain release documentation and version history.

    Defect Management

    • Manage defect lifecycle.
    • Review and prioritize defects.
    • Assign issues to developers.
    • Monitor defect resolution.
    • Validate fixes.
    • Analyze recurring defects.
    • Perform root cause analysis.
    • Prepare defect dashboards.
    • Recommend preventive actions.

    Compliance, Security & Risk Testing

    • Validate compliance with internal policies.
    • Support testing for:
      • KYC
      • KYB
      • AML
      • Fraud Detection
      • Sanctions Screening
    • Verify authentication mechanisms.
    • Validate role-based access controls.
    • Verify encryption implementation.
    • Support penetration testing remediation.
    • Participate in compliance audits.
    • Ensure secure payment processing.

    Performance & Usability Testing

    • Validate application performance.
    • Test under varying network conditions.
    • Verify application responsiveness.
    • Assess usability.
    • Evaluate accessibility.
    • Validate user interface consistency.
    • Monitor application stability after deployment.
    • Recommend customer experience improvements.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Prepare:

    • Lead QA process improvement initiatives.
    • Mentor QA Engineers.
    • Promote test automation.
    • Improve testing efficiency.
    • Standardize QA practices.
    • Support Agile transformation initiatives.
    • Monitor QA KPIs.
    • Identify quality improvement opportunities.
    • Stay current with emerging testing methodologies, FinTech regulations, and software engineering best practices.
    • Perform other duties assigned by Management.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
    • Master's Degree is an added advantage.
    • Professional certifications such as:
      • ISTQB
      • PMP
      • PRINCE2
      • Scrum Master
      • Agile
      • PMI-ACP

    are an added advantage.

    Experience Requirements

    • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Quality Engineering.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years in a leadership or senior QA role.
    • Minimum of 3–5 years within FinTech, Payments, Banking, Remittance, Financial Services.
    • Experience coordinating Agile software projects.
    • Experience leading QA teams.
    • Experience managing software releases.
    • Experience testing APIs.
    • Experience with payment platforms.
    • Experience with mobile and web applications.
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
