Oversee natural conservation areas, gardens, woodlands, parks, and roadside verges.
Improve the aesthetic appeal of the surrounding environment to complement the existing architecture and ensure the longevity of the grounds.
Coordinate and perform landscape design activities and the determination of appropriate shrubs, trees, and various plants, direct watering of plants, fertilization, and pruning of grounds and landscaped areas.
Ensure that all equipment is well maintained; ensure necessary tools and supplies are available when needed and are replaced after use.
Oversee maintenance of the demonstration garden and other public areas to ensure that plantings are healthy, free of weeds, and the site is attractive to visitors.
Supervise the work of assigned personnel to assure acre and safe condition of grounds and landscaped areas.
Responsible for leading the landscape design process, communicating, and delivering landscape design quality objectives.
Ensure that plants are priced and labeled correctly and that signage, information brochures, and materials are clearly displayed and available to visitors.
Implement an effective and quality management system and produce plans and reports on landscape preservation.
Oversee irrigation system maintenance and repairs, plan, coordinate, and supervise gardening activities as required.
Devising management and maintenance plans, to ensure spaces are preserved for future use and enjoyment.
Ensure that the nursery area is well maintained and stocked and that plants are watered, weed free, and attractive.
Establish landscape, gardens, and ground maintenance service strategies.
Preparation of graphical information for presentations, concept design, and detail designs.
Conduct regular inspections of building exteriors and surrounding landscape.
Employ sound environmental, ecological, and waste management practices.
Conducting surveys and generating reports with observations and sustainability recommendations.
Meeting communities and involving others in managing public spaces.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or related discipline.
Minimum of 12 years of related work experience.
Previous resort experience is an advantage.
Considerable knowledge of horticulture and grounds maintenance.
Understanding of proper pruning techniques, turf management, planting, and perennial care.
Understanding of irrigation systems’ operation with a high level of attention to detail.
Working knowledge of landscape design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
