Conduct field investigations, surveys, impact studies, or other research to compile and analyze data on economic, social, regulatory, and physical factors affecting land use.
Design and administer government plans and policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities, community facilities, and housing
Identify and verify property boundaries, and precisely mark property lines, corners, and easements to ensure proper demarcation and adherence to legal requirements.
Collect and analyze survey data related to elevations, distances, angles, and other measurements and use such data to create comprehensive survey reports, maps, and drawings.
Prepare reports and presentations that detail the location and characteristics of different urban infrastructures, as well as population factors.
Hold public meetings with government officials, land developers, lawyers, special interest groups, and the general public to address issues regarding urban land use and development.
Adhere to surveying standards, regulations, and safety protocols during field surveys and other surveying tasks. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Maintain accurate and organized records of survey data, ensuring that data is securely stored and easily accessible for future reference.
Create, prepare, or requisition graphic and narrative reports on land use data, including land area maps overlaid with geographic variables such as population density.
Qualifications
First degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning, or a related field preferred in a reputable institution
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Urban and Regional/Town Planner or Land Manager in the real estate industry
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and research skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, GIS, and PowerPoint.
Proficient knowledge and experience with surveying equipment, including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.
Working knowledge of web-based mapping platforms, such as CartoDB and Mapbox.
Professional certification in urban planning/Land Surveyor is a must-have
Superb project management skills.
Ability to generate high-quality graphics, diagrams, maps, sketches, and/or renderings.
Good numeracy skills and the ability to make mathematical calculations.
