Lab Manager at Sigma Consult

Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lab Manager to oversee the operations of our laboratories, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. The Lab Manager will lead a team of laboratory technicians, manage workflows, and coordinate with medical teams to support patient care.The Lab Manager  will  oversee the operations of our laboratories in Victoria Island, Ikeja, and Port Harcourt. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality laboratory services and effective coordination with medical teams 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and quality control protocols.
  • Manage lab workflows to optimize efficiency and turnaround times for test results.
• Quality Control:
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
  • Conduct regular audits and evaluations of laboratory practices and procedures.
• Team Leadership:
  • Train, supervise, and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
• Inventory and Resource Management:
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
  • Collaborate with procurement for timely acquisition of necessary materials.
• Coordination and Communication:
  • Coordinate laboratory services with medical teams to ensure effective patient management and timely reporting of results.
  • Communicate findings and laboratory updates to relevant stakeholders, including physicians and nursing staff.

Compensation:

• Monthly Salary: NGN 350,000 - 450,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science or a related field.
• 5-10 years of clinical laboratory experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Skills:

• Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in laboratory management software and data analysis.
