    Junior Technical Stores Officer

    ROLE DESCRIPTION
    The Junior Technical Stores Officer will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Technical Stores, ensuring that all materials, tools, and equipment required for aircraft maintenance are available, properly stored, and accurately documented. The Junior Technical Stores Officer will work under the supervision of the Technical Stores Officer to maintain inventory accuracy, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support the efficient functioning of the airline's maintenance operations. The role involves ensuring that all materials are stored correctly, tracked accurately, and made available as required to support maintenance operations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Inventory Management:

    • Assist in receiving, inspecting, and storing aircraft parts, materials, tools, and equipment.
    • Assist in the accurate tracking and recording of inventory levels using the airline's inventory management system.
    • Report any discrepancies in stock levels to the Technical Stores Officer.
    • Assist in identifying and reporting discrepancies, shortages, and excesses, and in the reordering of stock when inventory levels fall below the required minimum.

    Material Handling and Safety:

    • Ensure that all aircraft parts and materials are stored in compliance with the manufacturer's guidelines and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in the receiving, unpacking, and inspection of incoming materials to ensure they meet the required standards.
    • Assist in the safe and organized storage of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
    • Safely handle, transport, and store hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
    • Ensure that all materials, tools, and equipment are correctly identified, labeled and stored in designated locations, including shelf-life monitoring.
    • Support the maintenance of a clean, safe, and organized working environment within the Technical Stores.

    Support to Maintenance Operations and Communication:

    • Assist in the timely issuance of parts, tools, and equipment to maintenance teams as required.
    • Assist in the preparation and dispatch of materials for off-site repairs or returns.
    • Provide support to the Technical Stores Officer and maintenance teams in the management of stores operations and prioritizing urgent requests.
    • Assist in responding to inquiries and requests from other departments regarding inventory and parts availability.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities and provide feedback on potential areas for process improvements within the store's operation and suggest solutions to the Technical Stores Officer.
    • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to technical stores management.
    • Participate in initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Technical Stores operations.

    Documentation and Compliance:

    • Ensure that all materials are stored in compliance with the aviation regulatory requirements, company procedures and quality standards.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of all inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, and issues.
    • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and inspections by regulatory bodies or internal auditors.

    Issuing and Dispatching:

    • Assist in the timely and accurate issuance of parts and materials to maintenance personnel.
    • Ensure all issued parts are accompanied by the correct documentation and logged in to the inventory management system.
    • Prepare and package materials for dispatch to outstations or other locations as required. Stock Control:
    • Monitor stock levels and alert the Technical Stores Officer of low stock or excess inventory.
    • Support the reordering process by preparing requisition orders based on inventory levels and maintenance schedules.
    • Participate in the organization and optimization of storage space to ensure efficient stock retrieval.

    QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

    • HND or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Aviation Management, or a related field.
    • 3 years of experience in a technical stores, warehouse, logistics, or inventory management role, preferably in the aviation industry.
    • Proficiency in inventory management systems.
