What You’ll Do

• Report across formats and beats, adapting to story needs and editorial priorities. 
• Source, pitch, and develop original story ideas that meet TC’s editorial standards.
• Build and maintain relationships with sources across sectors.
• Collaborate with editors, designers, and product teams to tell stories in innovative ways.
• Uphold TechCabal’s editorial principles.

• Demonstrated ability to write clearly, engagingly, and with purpose.
• A broad curiosity across African technology and its intersections with business, policy, and culture.
• Evidence of critical thinking and the ability to find distinct angles.
• Strong research and interviewing skills.
• Comfort with deadlines and multiple story formats.
• A collaborative spirit and willingness to learn from feedback.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with digital publishing tools (WordPress, newsletter platforms, basic CMS).
• Comfort interpreting basic data and using it to inform reporting.
• Multimedia skills (audio, video, graphics) are a great plus.
