Job Summary

As a cleaner/janitor, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the premises. Your primary duties will involve performing various cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, sanitary, and pleasant environment for all employees and customers. The Janitor must be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, and common areas, restaurant floor, general surrounding, cleaning and sanitation of the refuse dump areas , as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.

Operational Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust and wipe down surfaces; clean windows and mirrors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from all areas of the facility.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and reporting any repairs needed.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are used and stored properly, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
• Ensure that all cleaning tools and equipment are in good working condition.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for special events or projects as needed.
• Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Work cooperatively with other janitorial staff and facility management to ensure all areas are cleaned and maintained.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues and receive instructions.

Requirements

• Minimum of senior secondary school certificate
• A minimum of 1 year relevant experience
• Previous experience in a janitorial or cleaning role is a plus
• Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, good time management, and basic maintenance skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
