The IT Technician will provide technical support for IT infrastructure, connected devices, networks and digital systems used across operational and field environments. The role involves installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT and network equipment, ensuring reliable connectivity and smooth operation of technology systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure and maintain computers, network equipment, routers, switches and other IT devices.
Set up and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, 4G and other connectivity solutions.
Provide technical support for users, devices and operational IT systems.
Install, configure and maintain POS, payment terminals and other connected devices where required.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network-related issues.
Support the deployment and commissioning of IT equipment at operational locations.
Monitor network connectivity and troubleshoot communication issues between connected devices and central systems.
Perform routine maintenance, system checks and equipment upgrades.
Maintain proper documentation of IT equipment, configurations and technical issues.
Work with software, engineering and operations teams to resolve technical problems.
Ensure IT systems and equipment comply with relevant security and operational standards.
Provide timely technical support and escalate complex issues when necessary.
Requirements:
BSc/HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in IT support, network administration or a similar role.
Good knowledge of computer hardware, networking and troubleshooting.
Experience with routers, switches, LAN, Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity.
Knowledge of POS/payment devices and connected systems is an added advantage.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.
Good understanding of IT security and data protection practices.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work in operational and field environments.
Previous experience in the Oil & Gas or related industrial environment is an advantage.
