Job Summary

The IT Officer will manage and maintain the hospital’s information technology systems, ensuring smooth operations of hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The role involves providing technical support to staff, safeguarding data security, and ensuring the hospital’s technology resources support efficient healthcare service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, networks, and related devices.
• Provide timely technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage and maintain the Hospital Information System (HIS) and ensure data integrity.
• Perform regular backups, system updates, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor network performance and implement security measures to protect hospital data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with vendors for system upgrades, repairs, and procurement of IT resources.
• Train hospital staff on the effective use of IT systems and applications.
• Maintain an updated inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and hospital IT policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in networking, system administration, and hardware maintenance.
• Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems and data security protocols.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

• Standard office hours with flexibility to work evenings or weekends when required.
• On-call availability for urgent technical issues.
