    Inventory Officer

    Responsibilities

    • Manage stock levels: Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure they meet demand without overstocking.
    • Track inventory movement: Record the receipt, movement, and dispatch of all goods.Ensure items are only released with proper authorization.
    • Conduct stock counts: Perform regular physical counts and cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with computerized records.
    • Maintain records: Keep accurate and up-to-date inventory records, including quantities, locations, and quality, often using specialized software.
    • Report on inventory: Generate reports detailing stock levels, variances, aging, and turnover rates to assess performance and inform purchasing decisions.
    • Inspect and receive goods: Inspect incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and damage, and verify them against purchase orders.
    • Ensure proper storage: Organize and label inventory correctly to prevent damage, loss, or spoilage, and ensure efficient use of storage space.
    • Collaborate with other departments: Work with procurement, sales, and operations to ensure inventory aligns with company needs.

    Required skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, or related field.
    • 2 - 3 years work experience.
    • Excellent math and analytical skills for reporting and discrepancy analysis.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with other departments and staff.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
    • Physical ability to handle warehouse tasks, which may include lifting.
