Inventory Accountant at Sunrose Consulting

Our client is a major force in the interiors and furniture sector of the Nigerian economy with a first class reputation for top of the range products. Its wide client base ranges from multinationals to individuals and expatriates. Building on recent significant success, it has an ambition to lead the continent in furniture making. These ambitious growth targets will strengthen the team through the appointment of an Inventory Accountant.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for tracking daily, weekly and monthly inventory. You will generate and analyse inventory reports to make sure there are no discrepancies. In addition, you will be responsible for financial reporting - cash books, sales journals/registers, bank reconciliation. You will ensure accuracy of inventory reports, lead physical inventory counts and diagnose the cause of inventory variance. You will also assist with internal audits. 

Requirements

1. Degree-qualified
2. A minimum of 2 years’ post qualification requisite experience.
3. Knowledge of sage software; basic or intermediate. 
4. Knowledge of manual accounting entries. Journals, asset registers, account receivables and account payables.
5. Proficiency in Excel - Intermediate or advanced. Should know how to use formulas correctly, and prepare accurate reports without supervision.
6. Should be good with numbers - calculating large figures (manually and on excel) with zero to minimal errors.
7. Inventory management- Experience in routine physical Stock taking, accurate inventory reporting, goods transfer record, goods received records, inventory addition and deductions, waybilling.
