Internal Auditor at Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank Plc (ITMB)

Role Description

• The Internal Auditor will perform independent and objective reviews of the bank’s financial and operational activities to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing audit engagements, testing internal controls, reviewing financial transactions and records, and preparing clear, comprehensive audit reports for management. The role also involves identifying process and control weaknesses, recommending practical improvements, and following up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
• The Internal Auditor will collaborate with various departments, support risk management initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement of governance and control frameworks.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data and identify risks and control gaps.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing audit reports and documentation, with attention to accuracy and clarity.
• Solid understanding of finance and financial audits, including audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Effective communication skills for presenting findings, writing reports, and engaging with stakeholders at different levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA are an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Knowledge of Nigerian banking regulations, mortgage banking operations, and internal control frameworks.
• High level of integrity, professional judgment, and the ability to work independently and within a team in a structured environment.
