Global Profilers is a Recruitment & HR Services firm specialized in recruitment in Africa; we are currently looking for a Risk and Internal Audit Manager for our client in the Fitness Industry.

Summary

The candidate should have prior Internal Control/Audit management experience in fast-growing multi-location retail companies within Nigeria or similar markets. He will be responsible for the independent examination of the financial, operational and process systems of the company’s business units, while establishing and maintaining a system of controls that would safeguard the company’s assets as well as prevent and detect errors and fraud.

Responsibilities

• Formulate the framework for risk-based audit, plan and strategy for internal audits/control, management audits and concurrent audits
• Plan, manage and conduct periodic and independent compliance, risk, financial, process-control, assets, IT and quality audits across all locations in which the company operates in line with International Audit Standards
• Undertake and report on the value for money that the company obtains in all its activities with special regard to economy, efficiency and effectiveness
• Design, implement, test and modify controls in specific organization systems, to provide assurance of operational and technical efficiency at the corporate level.
• Determine and set benchmark standards with functional heads to attain operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s internal control policies and procedures
• Carry out reviews in all business units and central departments
• Evaluate the reliability and integrity of information and ensure the efficient use of resources
• Monitor the implementation of external audit recommendations to ensure the satisfactory resolution of identified significant issues
• Prepare audit reports and make recommendations to management on control weaknesses identified, share best practices and recommend improvements
• Follow-up on the progress of implementing recommendations and directions
• Carry out oversight of the information systems and procedures
• Carry out special investigations upon request by management
• Assist in developing the IT Risk Assessment including identifying areas where internal audit should focus, and Management should consider additional investment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar/relevant functions in Nigeria
• Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of audit
• Detailed IT audit skills and experience
• Experience in policy formulation & implementation
• Ability to carry out audit reviews with minimum supervision and deliver quality audit reports
• Ability to apply various control, audit and investigation techniques
• Strong team player and proven managerial skills/experience
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent computer skills required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
