    Internal Audit & Control Officer

    Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

    Job Description

    • The internal audit & control role is to identify risks associated with business objectives and evaluate the controls in place to mitigate those risks in order to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Review internal audit and regulatory compliance reports and monitor the implementation of the recommendations.
    • Supervise the design and building of control frameworks in business processes and systems.
    • Interpret and analyze reports/data/information to identify possible risk exposure.
    • Ensure compliance with good corporate governance practice.
    • Prepare and submit periodic activity/ reports to the Head audit & finance on activities of the department.
    • Ensures that monthly stock taking of items is carried out.
    • Checking the accounting and internal control system to ensure that these are suitably designed to reduce the possibility of fraud and error.
    • Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.
    • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process.
    • Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost reductions.
    • Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
    • Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification.
    • 4 - 10 years work experience.
    • Professional qualification will be an added advantage.

    Technical Skills Required:

    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software - Sage 300,ERP Next.
    • Accounting software - QuickBooks.
    • Office Suite Software - Google Drive, Microsoft Office.

    Behavioural Skills Required:

    • Attention to details.
    • Confidentiality.
    • Integrity.
