Purpose of the Internship

• The purpose of this internship program is to promote employ ability through providing an opportunity for work experience to recent graduates, and university students in career transition.
• It is also an avenue to help develop leadership competencies and promote the participation of women in decision-making roles in key development spaces.

Description of Tasks
The Intern Will Initiate/assist And Develop The Following Initiatives; And The Planning Of Regular Meetings, As Well As Facilitate Knowledge Exchange. The Intern Will Be Expected To

• Provide Administrative support to the communications team.
• Assist in the brainstorming and implementation of tactics to support organizational communication strategies for internal and external audiences.
• Work with the communications coordinator to execute media plans, by writing, proofreading, distributing news releases, and media pitches, following up with reporters and media contacts.
• Preparing background information for interviews, maintaining media list and editorial calendars, and assisting with interview processes
• Assist in managing social media channels and the editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, engaging, and relevant.
• Conduct social media audits to ensure best practices are being used.
• Support graphic design for social media and other digital marketing initiatives.
• Work with the communications manager to conduct desk research, and map and identify health policy opportunities.
• Ensures compliance with laws and regulations.
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Standard Minimum Qualifications

• Only qualified female candidates are eligible to apply.
• First Degree or equivalent in the relevant field of studies.
• Additional consideration will be given to any professional experience relevant to the function you’re applying for.
• At least 1 to 2 years experience in the relevant field
• NYSC Certificate of completion/Exemption/Exclusion is compulsory.

Skills to be developed:

• The intern will develop a strong knowledge of public health, project and program management, digital health, vaccine-preventable diseases etc.
• The intern will gain exposure to real-world project and program management processes and concerns
• The intern will gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies
• The intern will develop better report-writing skills in the communication context to both technical and non-technical audiences
