    Interior Designer

    About Our Client:

    Our client is a prominent real estate development company based in Lagos, Nigeria, specializing in luxury residential and commercial properties. With a focus on innovative design and sustainable building practices, the company has been enhancing cityscapes across Nigeria since 2007.

    Role Summary:

    As an Interior Designer at our client's company, you will be responsible for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces for residential and commercial properties. You will play a key role in collaborating with clients and project teams to develop design concepts, select materials and finishes, and oversee the implementation of design plans.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with clients, architects, and project teams to understand project requirements, goals, and objectives, and develop interior design concepts and proposals that meet client needs and project specifications.
    • Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and renderings to communicate design concepts and ideas to clients and stakeholders, and present design proposals for review and approval.
    • Select and source materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and accessories for interior spaces, and create design specifications and schedules to guide the implementation of design plans.
    • Develop detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other design tools, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate interior design elements with architectural and structural components.
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, and track project progress and milestones, and communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address any issues or concerns.
    • Oversee the procurement and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure that design plans are implemented according to specifications and quality standards.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor the progress of construction and installation work, and address any issues or deviations from design plans to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in interior design, and incorporate sustainable design principles and practices into design plans to minimize environmental impact and enhance occupant well-being.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., NCIDQ) is a plus.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in interior design, with a portfolio of completed projects demonstrating proficiency in design concepts, space planning, and material selection.
    • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
    • Strong understanding of interior design principles, practices, and processes, including space planning, color theory, furniture design, and materials and finishes selection.
    • Excellent design and visualization skills, with the ability to develop creative and innovative design concepts and solutions that meet client needs and project requirements.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices is preferred.
