Interior Architect/Designer at Gemona West Design Studio

Gemona West Design Studio, in Lekki, is seeking for an Interior Architect/Designer with a background in Interior Design.

The position reports directly to the Senior Designer. Regular working hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. on weekdays. Must be available to work overtime when needed.  Main Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Assist Senior Designer in developing design concepts and space plans
• Assist in analyzing design objectives in accordance with clients’ needs
• Assist with floor plans, elevation drawings and 3D sketches
• Provide input in creation of design concept statements
• Render designs
• Assist with sample selections, hand sketches, drawings, schedules and boards
• Create specifications manuals such as room layouts
• Assist with concept design and mood boards
• Maintain knowledge of space planning, floor finish plans and elevations
• Carrying out quality checks of finished products with vendors
• Generating furniture shop drawings
• Provide support in creating sourcing materials and CAD plans for various projects
• Act as a bridge between interior designers and project team
• Assist in handling communication with clients through telephones, emails and official letters
• Assist with installations, coordinate deliveries and handle post installation follow up activities
• Client management (during the design and design development stages)
• Generating development concept drawings for contractors
• Liaising with contractors during the concept design and development stages to ensure that designs are implemented correctly

SKILLS

• Must be prepared to respond to multi-task job schedule for daily routine.
• Maintain high levels of concentration and attention to detail, and work with a team approach to accomplish tasks.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively gather and disseminate information and respond to questions from groups of mangers.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office Excel and Word, AutoCAD, Revit, Zoho, Photoshop, or other design tools.
• Must maintain professional appearance appropriate for job tasks and maintain proper business etiquette

EDUCATION

• B.Sc./Masters in Creative Design, Interior Design, Architectural Design or related discipline
• Must have 3-4 years experience in a similar position
