• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Officer to manage all insurance-related activities and protect the company’s assets, operations, and workforce.

Position Summary

• The Insurance Officer will be responsible for managing the company’s insurance portfolio, ensuring adequate coverage for all business operations, handling claims, liaising with insurance providers, and mitigating risks to safeguard the organization’s interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review all insurance policies (marine cargo, goods-in-transit, property, coldroom equipment, fire, life, and health insurance).
• Conduct risk assessments for company operations and recommend appropriate insurance coverage.
• Liaise and negotiate with insurance brokers, underwriters, and adjusters to secure favorable terms.
• Ensure timely renewal of insurance policies to prevent coverage gaps.
• Prepare, submit, and follow up on claims to ensure prompt settlement.
• Maintain comprehensive records of policies, claims, and correspondence.
• Educate and guide management and staff on insurance terms, obligations, and processes.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian insurance laws and regulatory requirements.
• Advise management on risk management strategies to reduce exposure to losses.

Qualifications & Skills

• HND / B.Sc Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in corporate insurance management.
• Professional certification such as ACIIN (Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of insurance products relevant to FMCG, importation, and coldroom operations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and strong record-keeping abilities.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and strong ethical standards.
