    Insurance Coordinator

    About Our Client:

    Our client is a reputable healthcare facility in Lagos State, Nigeria, dedicated to providing high-quality medical services and ensuring seamless financial transactions for patients and insurance providers. With a focus on efficiency and accuracy, our client seeks to optimize insurance processes and maximize reimbursement for healthcare services.

    Role Summary:

    As an Insurance Coordinator at our client's healthcare facility, you will be responsible for coordinating insurance-related activities, including verifying patient insurance coverage, processing insurance claims, and communicating with insurance providers to facilitate reimbursement for medical services rendered.

    Responsibilities:

    • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to scheduling appointments or services.
    • Obtain and record insurance authorization for medical procedures, tests, and treatments as required by insurance policies.
    • Submit accurate and timely insurance claims for reimbursement of medical services provided to patients.
    • Monitor the status of insurance claims and follow up with insurance providers to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
    • Communicate with patients regarding their insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibilities, including copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
    • Collaborate with billing and coding staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation for insurance claims submission.
    • Maintain detailed records of insurance transactions, including patient insurance information, claim submissions, and reimbursement payments.
    • Stay updated on changes in insurance regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Proven experience working in insurance coordination or medical billing role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
    • Knowledge of insurance verification, authorization, and claims processing procedures.
    • Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
