    Institutional Sales Manager

    Job Summary

    • The role holder is responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals, and maintaining customer satisfaction for all Exchange-related products. He/She is also responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals through client prospecting and sales presentations.
    • To be successful in this role, you will have to demonstrate sales competence, as well as have a deep interest in and understanding of the capital markets and the investment landscape, both domestic and foreign.

    Duties & Responsibilities 

    • Develop a go-to-market strategy based on product and market knowledge, policies and the present nature of the market. 
    • Preparing a detailed plan for the implementation of business strategy and achieving targets 
    • Develop and deliver insightful presentations to clients and management as required. 
    • Understand the Exchange products and market dynamics, and accordingly realign sales strategies. 
    • Monitoring performance with targets and competition under different parameters.
    • Track competitors and develop response strategies. 
    • Provide all relevant information and clarification to the product team and other relevant teams. 
    • Ensuring market adoption of new contracts and products listed on the exchange. 
    • Representing the business in key events/seminars/conferences and other related market events. 
    • Reviewing the performance assigned portfolio in terms of market participation, traded volumes, active clients, etc. 
    • Ensure timely resolutions of member queries/grievances if any. 
    • Ensuring timely collection of market feedback for product improvisations & member expectation.
    • Ensuring the spread of knowledge and commodity reports to aid members in doing business.
    • Actively seeking out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and physical meetups.
    • Developing marketing materials and participating in client presentations.
    • Responsible for product selling and business development. 
    • Serve as a relationship manager to clients.
    • Onboarding of capital market operators as members of the Exchange.
    • Ensure the availability of products on the Exchange through coordination with the internal product development team. 
    • Ensure capital market operators are equipped with the relevant technology to ensure seamless execution of transactions on the Exchange. 
    • Develop market reports for dissemination to capital market operators. 
    • Work with capital market operators and distribution partners to build the appetite of their customers for commodity-linked instruments.
    • Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other activities as may be assigned.
    • Embark on trips within and outside Nigeria where necessary.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related fields. 
    • Advanced understanding of investment products and strategies including mutual funds, ETF and alternative investments.
    • A proven track record of sales success.
    • Strong sales, decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.
    • Knowledge of Global capital markets. 
    • Established relationships within the investment community.
    • Willingness to travel. 
    • Superior presentation and interpersonal skills. 
    • Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
    • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the capital market or related financial institution.
