    Import and Export Executive

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Import/Shipping Executive to manage end-to-end import documentation, shipping coordination, regulatory compliance, and banking processes.
    • The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of import/export procedures in Nigeria, including processing Form M, Letters of Credit (LC), SONCAP certification, and working with financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and shipping companies to ensure timely and cost-effective cargo clearance.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Establish and process Form M and Letters of Credit (LC) with financial institutions and overseas suppliers.
    • Liaise with banks to ensure timely issuance and processing of Letters of Credit.
    • Coordinate with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and relevant regulatory agencies for smooth shipment handling.
    • Process SONCAP Certificates, permits, PAAR, and Form M documentation through the National Single Window Portal.
    • Monitor shipment schedules and ensure prompt follow-up to avoid delays in cargo clearance.
    • Identify and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate import-related costs such as shipment losses, damages, demurrage, port detention, and avoidable penalties.
    • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian import regulations and customs requirements.
    • Maintain accurate shipping and import documentation records.
    • Resolve shipment discrepancies and escalate critical issues where necessary.
    • Prepare import status reports and provide updates to management.

    Job Requirements:

    • HND / B.Sc Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Shipping Management, or related discipline.
    • Minimum of 4 years cognate experience in import/export, shipping, or logistics operations.
    • Strong knowledge of Form M, LC processing, SONCAP, PAAR, and National Single Window Portal operations.
    • Excellent relationship management skills with banks, suppliers, shipping companies, and regulatory agencies.
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shipping/logistics documentation systems.
