ICT Teacher at Blooms Academy

Job Summary

• The ICT Teacher will inspire, engage, and challenge students in their understanding and application of Information and Communication Technology.
• The successful candidate will be expected to deliver lessons that prepare students for both national (WAEC/NECO) and international (IGCSE) examinations while equipping them with essential digital and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons across Key Stages 3–5, ensuring alignment with the school’s curriculum.
• Teach a wide range of ICT topics, including digital literacy, programming, data management, and emerging technologies.
• Prepare students for external examinations (WAEC, IGCSE, or equivalent) with high academic standards.
• Encourage creativity, collaboration, and innovation through practical and project-based learning.
• Assess, record, and report student progress in line with Blooms Academy’s standards.
• Contribute to the integration of ICT across the wider school curriculum.
• Support departmental and whole-school activities, including clubs, competitions, and digital initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students in both academic and personal growth.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching qualification (PGDE, PGCE) and TRCN registration preferred.
• Proven experience teaching ICT in a secondary school environment.
• Familiarity with WAEC/NECO and IGCSE syllabuses is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages, software tools, and new technologies.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A passion for developing digitally skilled and future-ready learners.
