    Humanitarian Field Hub Cook

    Description

    Overview of position:

    • Under the overall supervision of the humanitarian hubs Project Coordinator & humanitarian hub management staff & with direct supervision of the Red Roof Kitchen Supervisor (Chef), the successful candidate will be responsible for overall operation & management of the kitchen in Nagla field humanitarian hub.

    Role objectives:

    • Prepare weekly food & beverage plan of the hub.
    • Prepare supplies requests for the week, in coordination with the Field Hub Manager.
    • Verify the quality of supplies delivered in a timely manner, is acceptable & passes the minimum quality standard of the kitchen.
    • Ensure that all staff observe standard operating procedure to maintain quality & cleanliness of the food & facilities of the restaurant, kitchen & bar.
    • Exercise overall management of the kitchen & dining area & ensure the services are provided smoothly.
    • Prepare weekly menu with the supervision of Red Roof Supervisor.
    • Have a good personal hygiene & ensures that kitchen area, kitchen equipment, serving area & food storage facilities is maintained with a high hygienic awareness.
    • Responsible for the management of kitchen waste.
    • Continuously develop / innovate new menu to provide good variety of food being served at the dining area at the field hubs.
    • Perform such other duties as may be required.
    • Serve as a roving staff when need arises.
    • Maintain standard, manage inventory, with the supervision of the Hub Manager.

    Project reporting:

    • This role will work under the overall supervision of the humanitarian hubs Project Coordinator & humanitarian hub management staff & with direct supervision of the Red Roof Kitchen Supervisor (Chef).

    Key competencies:

    • Higher education in relevant field is required.
    • Previous experience in similar capacity.
    • Understanding of the importance of health & hygiene.
    • Proactive.
    • A great team player.
    • Fast learner.
    • Fluency in English, Hausa & / or Kanuri.
    • Takes responsibility for action & manages constructive criticisms.
    • Works effectively well with client & stakeholders.

    • This role has no team management responsibility.
