    Human Resources Specialist

    Reports to:    Head Human Resources 

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Human Resources Specialist reports to the Head of Human Resources. H/she will be responsible for maintaining, administering and executing the company’s human resource policies and programs. H/she will drive the recruitment mandate, effective working relationships, employee engagement and delivery of HR best practices. 
    In addition; 

    • Support the development and continuous improvement of HR systems and policies in line with best practices.
    • Lead complex recruitment assignments that require creative applications of knowledge to specific recruitment challenges
    • Prepare the required recruitment and selection report to facilitate decision-making 
    • Support the development of employees and provide advice, guidance and ad-hoc training as required.
    • Keep track of all HR transactions, including salary payment, travel allowances, employee awards, statutory payments.
    • Conduct all required pre-contracting checks, documentation and contractual agreement
    • Conduct employee onboarding, off-boarding and all required inductions
    • Support the hiring managers to develop position job descriptions, key performance indicators and  goals
    • Ensure that all staffing documentation submitted complies with donor, company, and the project requirements by verifying all required staff documentation.  
    • Ensure legal compliance of HR regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
    • Guide staff and managers on HR related matters. 

    Any other duties assigned 
    ROLE SPECIFICATION 

    • Minimum of a B.Sc Degree 
    • 4 – 6 years proven experience as an HR Generalist 
    • Professional membership of CIPM, PHRi or SPHRi is required
    • Hands-on experience with HRIS, database and any HR software is needed. 
    • Good knowledge of payroll cycle and procedures
    • Practical experience in the use of any recruitment software  
    • Excellent knowledge of the Nigeria Labour Law and regulations of the field is required
    • Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases
    • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
    • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
    • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
    • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Good supervisory, coaching and mentoring skills.
