Hotel Accountant at Work Dey HR Services

Our Client, a reputable Hotel located in the heart of Abuja requires for immediate employment the service of a well experience, competent and honest Accountant to direct the operations of the Finance unit and properly document and present Account accounting reports to the Management in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Controlling the payroll
• Producing an accurate set of month-end accounts, with comparisons to forecasts and previous periods
• Preparing profit and loss accounts and the balance sheet for senior management
• Assisting in preparing budgets and business planning, including projected room revenue
• Reconciling bank statements
• Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and PAYE
• Chasing late payments, reporting bad debts and keeping a careful eye on the cash flow

Requirements and skills

• Work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
• Additional certification (ICAN) is a plus
