Role Summary:

As a Health Information Manager at our client's healthcare facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the collection, organization, and maintenance of patient health information. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality, and support the use of health information for clinical and administrative purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHRs), ensuring accurate and complete documentation of patient encounters, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for health information management, including data integrity, security, and confidentiality.
• Train and supervise staff members responsible for health information management tasks, including medical coding, transcription, and release of information.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to support the use of health information for quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and revenue cycle management.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA regulations, state privacy laws, and accreditation standards.
• Monitor and analyze health information data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Participate in interdisciplinary committees and workgroups to address health information management issues and promote best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
• Valid certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
• Proven experience working as a Health Information Manager, preferably in a hospital or healthcare organization.
• Strong knowledge of health information management principles, practices, and regulations.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and health information technology.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
