    Head of Security

    Responsibilities

    • Design and implement a company-wide security framework aligned with Ntel’s business and operational goals
    • Establish security policies, SOPs, and compliance guidelines for all Ntel locations and personnel
    • Conduct periodic security audits and risk assessments across all sites
    • Oversee security of Ntel’s infrastructure including data centers, base stations (BTS), fiber routes, switch sites, and regional offices
    • Coordinate site hardening efforts to minimize risks from vandalism, theft, terrorism, or sabotage
    • Develop and lead emergency preparedness, response, and crisis management plans
    • Manage investigation processes and liaise with law enforcement agencies when necessary
    • Select and manage outsourced security firms and guard services across all regions
    • Ensure vendor compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), training, and reporting protocols
    • Implement employee and executive protection protocols, including travel security procedures
    • Conduct background checks and clearance for sensitive roles
    • Lead training sessions on workplace security, awareness, and emergency response
    • Ensure full compliance with national security laws, NCC requirements, and telecom safety regulations
    • Act as primary liaison with security-related government agencies and regulatory bodies
    • Lead and supervise regional security teams across Nigeria
    • Develop performance standards, training programs, and career progression plans

    Education / Certification

    • Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Security Management, Military Science, Risk Management, or a related field
    • Advanced certifications preferred: CPP (Certified Protection Professional), PSP, or equivalent

    Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience in corporate or infrastructure security, including 5+ years at senior management level
    • Prior experience in telecom, oil & gas, or large-scale infrastructure security is highly desirable
    • Military, paramilitary, or law enforcement background is an advantage
    • Experience developing strategic plan, conducting security audits,and managing incident response processes.

    Competencies:
    Knowledge:

    • Excellent knowledge of physical and electronic security systems
    • Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to infrastructure security in an organisation.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging securitytrends and technologies
    • Good knowledge of incident reporting tools, and basic surveillance technologies
