Full responsibility for budget development, planning & reporting, and liquidity management.
Develop and implement the financial strategy of the organization in alignment with business objectives.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and provide insightful recommendations to senior management.
Develop and maintain financial statements for future reference.
Monitor and manage expenses within the established budget.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Preparation and submission of CBN and NDIC monthly rendition Return
Remittance of statutory deductions on a monthly basis, such as PAYE, WHT, VAT etc.
Communicate financial performance and forecasts; assist in the preparation and review of all monthly and quarterly reports for Board, Shareholders, Regulatory bodies, etc.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of financial and control experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management position in a microfinance institution.
HND or Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA)
In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
Strong knowledge of microfinance industry regulations and financial reporting standards, with experience in creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrates excellent understanding of financials as well as advanced business finance and performance analysis.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word and good knowledge of IFRS.
