About Us
We are a fast-growing multi-branch retail company with an in-house bakery that currently supplies all our branches. As part of our growth strategy, we are expanding production capacity and preparing to distribute and sell our bakery products beyond our stores into the wider market.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Bakery to lead production, standardize operations across branches, and drive external market expansion.
Role Summary
The Head of Bakery will oversee end-to-end bakery operations, including production, quality control, staff management, cost efficiency, supply chain coordination, and product development. The role will also lead the strategic expansion of bakery sales into external markets while ensuring consistent quality and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Oversee daily production to meet branch demand and future external sales targets
- Ensure consistent product quality, taste, and presentation across all branches
- Develop and maintain standardized recipes and production processes
- Implement efficient production planning and capacity management
Quality Control & Compliance
- Enforce food safety, hygiene, and regulatory compliance standards
- Conduct routine quality audits across production and distribution
- Reduce waste and improve yield efficiency
Team Leadership
- Supervise bakery managers, supervisors, and production staff
- Recruit, train, and develop bakery personnel
- Establish clear performance targets and accountability systems
Commercial & Growth Strategy
- Develop new product lines aligned with market trends
- Lead pricing strategy and cost control initiatives
- Prepare the bakery unit for external distribution and wholesale opportunities
- Identify new revenue channels outside company branches
Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor raw material usage and supplier relationships
- Control production costs without compromising quality
- Track profitability per product line
Requirements
- Minimum of 7–9 years bakery management experience, preferably in a multi-branch or commercial production environment
- Strong knowledge of large-scale bakery production and quality control
- Experience in cost control, inventory management, and production planning
- Leadership experience managing production teams
- Understanding of food safety regulations
- Business-minded with ability to scale operations
