Job Overview:

• As our Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities within the company.
• You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
• Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting, combined with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts department, ensuring efficient and accurate financial processes.
• Maintain general ledger accounts by preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring data accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
• Perform financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making and budgeting processes.
• Develop and implement financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to optimize working capital management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT and other applicable taxes, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct periodic audits and assist in the preparation of annual financial statements for external audits.
• Manage banking relationships, including reconciling bank statements and overseeing cash management activities.
• Stay up-to-date with accounting principles, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and advise on potential financial risks or opportunities.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., ICAN) is highly desirable.
• Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards (e.g., FIRS).
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Excellent understanding of local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
• Knowledge of the ICT industry and its specific accounting requirements is a plus.
