    Head, Human Resources

    JOB SUMMARY

    The role reports to the Managing Director and will ensure that human resource function provides strategic and administrative support/partnering in the development of the organisation and its human resource by supporting the business objectives, fostering loyalty and staff motivation, ensuring open lines of communication exists, providing relevant learning models and human development and maintaining the corporate culture of the organization

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide HR leadership and professionalism - facing the boardroom, conference circuit, and workforce with confidence and skill; overseeing the group HR functions and managing all HR team leaders
    • Define the organisational development and human resource strategy.
    • Formulate HR policies and procedures and guidelines and enforce organisation values.
    • Ensure that HR policies and procedures comply with labour laws
    • Develop recruitment strategy and oversee its implementation. Interview senior hires where necessary
    • Establish departmental accountabilities for the range of HR functions.
    • Develop and foster positive organizational culture.
    • Champion a performance culture and continuously review productivity and employee development making recommendations for improvements
    • Give counsel and oversee complex employee relations issues such as grievance and disciplinary cases and manage difficult cases with professionalism
    • Lead performance management, salary reviews, promotion and recognition programs for the organization
    • Co-ordinate remuneration policies and advise senior management on staff salaries in reference to external benchmarks
    • Lead communication efforts (both internal and external) and send communiqués to staff or the public on critical/policy issues as needed
    • Develop and Issue employment contracts, both local and expatriate
    • Sign off on staff confirmation of new recruits, promotion, and salary increments

    REQUIREMENTS

    • First Degree in any discipline from an accredited university
    • Relevant professional qualifications - CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, and/or Masters' Degree is desirable
    • Minimum of ten (10) years human resource work experience within a structured organization
    • Technical know-how of EPC projects
    • Extensive logistics, quota ex-pat., contracts, external industrial relations, and communication skills
