    Head Chef

    Job Description

    We are looking to hire a Head Chef for our client. The ideal candidate should be an even temperament leader that will organise the kitchen’s activities, be the first in command in the facilities, and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and consistency.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and serve special meals on the menu
    • Designing new recipes, planning menus and selecting plate presentation
    • Inspecting the quality of all meals to ensure consistency and tastiness
    • Coordinate and manage all kitchen staff
    • Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes
    • Implementing hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness
    • Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational and financial objectives
    • Hiring and training kitchen staff, such as chefs, food preparation workers, and kitchen assistants
    • Performing administrative tasks, taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and doing purchase orders
    • Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff
    • Interfacing with guests to obtain feedback on food and service quality
    • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
    • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers

    Requirements

    • Minimum of two years of culinary education and training
    • Proven experience working as a Head Chef
    • Proven ability of kitchen management
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress
    • Advanced knowledge of food professional principles and practices
    • Proficient knowledge of human resources management
    • Available to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays
    • Good organisational and time management skills
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
    • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimised kitchen processes
    • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)

    Location – Ikeja, Lagos 

    Salary – N100,000 – N130,000
