• The Mortician will be responsible for the preparation of deceased individuals for burial or cremation, providing support and guidance to grieving families, and ensuring all mortuary operations are conducted with the highest standards of dignity and respect.

Responsibilities

Preparation and Preservation:

• Ensure proper preparation and embalming of bodies for funerals.
• Maintain and monitor mortuary equipment and supplies.

Family Support and Coordination:

• Provide empathetic support to grieving families.
• Coordinate with funeral homes and other relevant services.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure all legal documentation is completed accurately.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.

Professional Embalming and Presentation:

• Prepare and embalm bodies with precision and care, ensuring they are presentable for viewing.
• Apply makeup and restorative techniques to enhance the appearance of the deceased.

Effective Communication and Support:

• Communicate sensitively and effectively with grieving families.
• Provide clear information and guidance regarding funeral arrangements and mortuary services.

Operational Excellence:

• Maintain a clean and organized mortuary environment.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and supplies are adequately stocked.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Complete and file all necessary paperwork, including death certificates and permits.
• Follow all local, state, and national regulations related to mortuary practices.

Qualifications

Education and Certification:

• Diploma or degree in Mortuary Science or a related field.
• Certification as an embalmer or mortician is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortuary services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
