Job Description:

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee their company's vehicle fleet operations. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, optimizing fleet usage, and minimizing costs. This role involves working closely with drivers, maintenance teams, and external vendors to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Maintenance & Operations:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all fleet vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition. Develop preventive maintenance schedules to avoid downtime.

Fleet Optimization:

• Manage and optimize the utilization of the company’s fleet to ensure efficient use of vehicles and resources. Track fleet metrics and analyze data to improve efficiency.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Monitor driver safety and provide training as needed.

Budgeting & Cost Management:

• Manage the fleet budget, negotiate with vendors, and monitor costs related to vehicle procurement, fuel, maintenance, and insurance. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

Driver Management:

• Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of drivers. Monitor driver performance, resolve issues, and ensure a positive working relationship between drivers and management.

Inventory & Procurement:

• Manage the procurement of new vehicles, parts, and equipment. Maintain an accurate inventory of fleet vehicles and parts, ensuring timely replacements and repairs.

Vendor & Contract Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, including vehicle suppliers, insurance providers, and maintenance services. Negotiate contracts and service agreements.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, fuel usage, and costs. Prepare regular reports for senior management on fleet performance and financials.

Sustainability Initiatives:

• Identify and implement strategies to reduce the environmental impact of the fleet, such as introducing fuel-efficient vehicles or alternative fuel sources.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or similar role in fleet or logistics management.
• Strong knowledge of fleet management practices, vehicle maintenance, and safety regulations.
• Experience with fleet management software and systems for tracking vehicle usage, maintenance, and costs.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work well with drivers, mechanics, and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency and cost control.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor management.
• A valid driver’s license and knowledge of relevant local and national regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
