Financial Reporting Officer at Dunn & Braxton

• The Company is seeking to hire a Financial Reporting Officer who will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation and analysis of financial statements. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, preparing statutory reports, and ensuring that all financial reporting is conducted legally and ethically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing accurate financial statements and documents covering accounting transactions for management and regulatory review.
• Ensuring that financial records are maintained in strict accordance with IFRS and standard accounting practices.
• Monitoring budget performance and providing detailed variance analysis for expenditure control.
• Overseeing the reconciliation of accounts to ensure data integrity in all financial reports.
• Mediating tax refunds and ensuring transparency in the allocation for valid claims.
• Following up on outstanding refunds, false claims, and unclaimed refunds to ensure accurate balance sheet reporting.
• Providing auditors with all records, documents, and files about VAT returns, VAT settlements, and transactional data.
• Working closely with other departments to gather data for comprehensive business reporting.
• Preparing various monthly reports to analyze business financial health, including sales reports, profit and loss statements, general ledger entries, goods received notes, and goods issued notes.

Requirements

• Good First Degree in any relevant field.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Minimum of 2 years’ Cognate experience as a Financial Reporting Officer or similar role.
• Good business writing and communication skills.
• Excellent team management skills.
• Strong attention to details.
• Willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and pay attention to details.
