    Financial Planning Assistant Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts across business units.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
    • Assist in monthly and quarterly financial reporting to management and stakeholders.
    • Support business units in financial planning, target setting, and performance tracking.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to validate assumptions and ensure data accuracy.
    • Monitor key financial indicators and assist with the preparation of management dashboards.
    • Participate in business case development and investment appraisals.
    • Ensure financial plans align with corporate objectives and market realities.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing required data and analysis.
    • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the finance function.

    Education / Professional Certification

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
    • Professional Certification in Accounting (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CPA, CFA or similar) is required

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including at least 2years in a supervisory or managerial role
    • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, or analysis.
    • Proven experience working with and navigating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) for financial transaction processing and reporting.
    • Demonstrable experience in performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
    • Experience in processing a high volume of financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
    • Experience in the telecommunications sector or a similar fast-paced industry is an advantage.

    Competencies
    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Solid knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, reporting standards and tax laws.
    • Knowledge of financial regulatory & compliance
    • Knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies.

    Skills:

    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Expert in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Intermediate to advanced skills for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
    • Negotiation skills
    • Conflict resolution skills
    • Financial & Accounting Fundamentals
    • ERP & System Proficiency.
