Job Description

• Maintain an in-depth understanding of your assigned beat to deliver confident and insightful writing across multiple levels of sophistication.
• Provide timely daily and weekly news updates, and stay up-to-date with developments in your beat.
• Break news stories promptly across your primary beat and any additional beats assigned.
• Conduct interviews and represent the company at events, press briefings, and other relevant functions.
• Cover all categories of stories in accordance with Nairametrics' content format.
• Create original content and improve existing content using SEO best practices.
• Brainstorm, research, and contribute content ideas that are relevant and engaging to our audience.

Basic Requirements

• At least 3 years of writing experience in digital or print media.
• Minimum 2 years of experience covering your beat of interest (as listed above).
• Minimum of B.Sc./HND in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of business and financial information relevant to your beat.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Effective storytelling and content creation skills.
• Experience engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
• Outgoing personality with a strong professional network and a natural enthusiasm for keeping up with financial, business, economic, political, and social news, both local and international.
• Good understanding of the media industry and how it operates.
